Spring to most people means sunshine, blooming trees and flowers and also the return of hot weather, in Florida, it also means the return of bugs and pests. The flowers, spring rains, and new plants and vegetables, combined with Florida's humid temperatures, make Spring, the right time for bugs to be released, and brings the necessity for regular pest management.
FLUORESCENT LIGHT: If adequate day light isn't available, plants might be grown under fluorescent lights. Use double tube fixtures with one cool white bulb then one broad spectrum bulb. Lights needs to be eight to ten inches higher than the the top of plants and started up for 12 to 14 hours per day. If plants have tight centers or seem to be bleaching out, slow up the quantity of hours to 8-10 each day.
